A smooth and stress-free parking process creates the basis for a relaxed shopping experience, which ideally ends with satisfied customers who can complete their purchases and leave the parking lot without any problems.
Before working with Wemolo, many EDEKA locations used conventional parking disk solutions. Control officers were on site to monitor compliance with the parking time - an approach that was not only cost-intensive, but also not very customer-friendly. Long search times for a parking space or annoying parking tickets often spoiled the shopping experience.
In search of a modern and customer-oriented solution that increases efficiency and improves convenience for customers, EDEKA started working with Wemolo in 2019. Together, they introduced a digital parking solution that replaces traditional barriers with innovative technologies.
Camera-based parking space control: stress-free parking for customers
Wemolo has introduced camera-based parking space control at over 250 locations in order to keep parking spaces free for its own customers. The system records the license plate numbers of vehicles entering and exiting and automatically measures the parking time - without the need for parking discs or ticket inspectors. This ensures a seamless and customer-friendly solution that not only reduces administrative costs, but also cuts third-party use of parking spaces by up to 80%.

Residents or other tenants of the property can also manage their vehicles and parking times independently via the portal, reducing the workload for on-site staff to a minimum.

In particularly central locations where parking space is limited, Wemolo relies on systems for paid customer parking. Existing barrier systems are replaced by barrier-free technologies that guarantee a fast and smooth process. No traffic jams at entrances and exits, no complicated processes: Customers benefit from an optimized parking process that can be conveniently subsidized via the receipt. This makes the solution not only particularly customer-friendly, but also cost-efficient.
Renting out free parking spaces: Additional income through targeted use
With the Wemolo booking platform, unused parking spaces can be rented out efficiently. The utilization of parking spaces is monitored in real time to ensure that sufficient capacity remains available for customers even at peak times.
Outside of opening hours, for example at night, parking spaces can be rented out to residents or other interested parties in a targeted manner. Wemolo takes care of the marketing, processing and communication with the tenants - a complete solution that opens up additional sources of income without any additional work for staff.
Data analyses: smart decisions through insights into parking space usage
Wemolo provides detailed analyses via a data protection-compliant web portal that provide valuable insights into parking space usage.

The hardware required for parking space management remains the property of Wemolo GmbH during the contract period and is therefore not purchased by you. Wemolo is responsible for the reliable operation of the hardware.
Wemolo has a solution for almost every parking space. In a non-binding conversation, we will be happy to show you what needs to be considered in your parking space. In principle, clearly identifiable entrances and exits, a power connection (230V) and good data reception (LTE/5G) are an advantage.
The license plate scanners are installed near the entrance. The exact location varies from location to location. Our license plate scanners have a range of up to 100 m and can capture a width of approx. 12 m. They can therefore be mounted on facades, lamp posts or on roofs.
Third party and long-term parkers who park their vehicles without authorization are recognized by our system and automatically receive a sanction notice.
Terms and conditions and information signs are installed on each parking space, which draw attention in unpaid parking space that it is a customer parking space with a corresponding maximum parking period. The corresponding contractual penalty for infringement is also clearly visible. In paid parking spaces, these signs are supplemented by others that explain the parking process using the digital system. The signs are large and easily recognizable at the entrances and exits and on the parking area. Vehicle owners agree to the terms and conditions by driving into the parking lot.
Our digital parking monitoring uses electronic means to monitor your parking spaces. Using AI-based software, cameras reliably record the license plates of all vehicles — without any barriers.
